The Headland Rams will challenge the Eufaula Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Headland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Headland will bounce into Friday's match after beating Ashford, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rams blew past the Yellowjackets 14-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Rams have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Shaylee Greathouse made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other pitching news, Mally Arnold looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Harlee Raley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Layla Goodwin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Pike County hit Eufaula with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 9-8.
Emerson Faircloth led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Yamyah Fryer, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Headland pushed their record up to 16-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Eufaula, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-20 record this season.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Headland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Eufaula struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Headland skirted past Eufaula 3-2 in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
