Monterey lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Avoyelles Charter, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Vikings on Thursday. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by nine runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Monterey's third in a row) raised their record to 8-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Avoyelles Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monterey will challenge Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avoyelles Charter, they will venture away from home to face off against Harrisonburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
