Washington scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Boonville on the road to the tune of 72-41. Considering Washington has won eight games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aubrey Frank, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Frank is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Olivia Gilley was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Heritage Hills made easy work of Pike Central on Thursday and carried off a 53-30 victory. Given Heritage Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Pike Central is ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Heritage Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Everything went Washington's way against Heritage Hills when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as Washington made off with a 52-31 win. With Washington ahead 31-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
