The Granger Lions''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged Chilton out 17-14. This was payback for Granger, who suffered a 34-19 loss the last time these two teams met.
Granger can attribute much of their success to Chase Edwards, who rushed for 204 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas Youngblood did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Granger's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.0 points per game. As for Chilton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granger will take on Milano at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chilton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Iola at 7:00 p.m.
