The Gering Bulldogs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 52-46 W over Chase County on Saturday. For Gering, this counts as revenge for the 39-25 defeat Chase County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Gering's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Neveah Hrasky, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Jacey Cochran was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Gering's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. As for Chase County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Gering will head out on the road to square off against Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mitchell is coming into the match with seven straight wins at home, meaning Gering will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. Chase County will take on Hitchcock County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hitchcock County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
