Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Ireton). They blew past The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans 20-4 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cardinals considering their one-run performance the match before.
Kolby Curry and Ciara Funk were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Curry tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Funk pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. At bat, Curry went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run, while Funk got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Funk a new career-high.
