The Robinson Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Langley Saxons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robinson is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, Robinson came up short against Woodson and fell 60-51. Robinson has not had much luck with Woodson recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Robinson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Scott Van antwerp, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Van antwerp pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matteen Rahim, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Langley had to suffer through a rough 68-34 loss at the hands of South Lakes. While losing is never fun, Langley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while South Lakes is ranked 12th).
Robinson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Langley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Robinson came up short against Langley in their previous matchup back in January of 2021, falling 74-65. Can Robinson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
