In almost any game, 72 points would all but guarantee a win. Not in this one. Wells got past Excel Christian with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 78-72.
The win bumped Wells' record up to 2-1. The loss dropped Excel Christian back to even at 2-2.
Wells will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Eureka. Eureka will need to watch out since Wells have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Excel Christian, they will face off against Mineral County.
