Wheatmore is 6-1 against Southeast Guilford since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wheatmore Warriors will head out to face off against the Southeast Guilford Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Wheatmore got the win against Gray Stone Day by a conclusive 15-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Bella Dill was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Dill was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Wheatmore got a massive performance out of Kyndal Kindley, who scored three runs and stole Five bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Savannah Heiney, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Wheatmore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, while Southeast Guilford put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Grimsley. Southeast Guilford blew past Grimsley 23-0.
Southeast Guilford now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wheatmore, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Wheatmore has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13 hits per game. However, it's not like Southeast Guilford struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
