The Rifle Bears suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Moffat County, falling 56-18. Rifle has struggled against Moffat County recently, as their contest on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rifle struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Moffat County racked up 17 assists.
Mena Tucker had a dynamite game for Moffat County, scoring 22 points along with nine steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Teya Miller, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Rifle has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Moffat County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Rifle and Delta will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Delta's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Rifle has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Moffat County will take on Basalt at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Basalt has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
