The Mingus Marauders will square off against the Thunderbird Titans at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Mingus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Mingus proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Poudre 5-4. The win was nothing new for the Marauders as they're now sitting on three straight.

Tanner Brewer was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jax Perry, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Manuel Munoz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Thunderbird didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop Kelly on Wednesday and fell 5-4.
Thunderbird saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Donathan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
The victory got Mingus back to even at 6-6. As for Thunderbird, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mingus hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Thunderbird struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mingus came up short against Thunderbird in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, falling 8-5. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
