The Classen SAS Comets had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They took down Washington 56-39. That's another feather in the cap for Classen SAS, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Classen SAS was led to victory by Makiya Moore and Skylar Durley. Moore almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Durley scored 21 points. Durley is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for five games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Ferguson, who scored two points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Classen SAS pushed their record up to 14-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Washington, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-2.
Classen SAS will take on the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Star-Spencer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Comets are ranked 30th). As for Washington, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Braves at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. One thing working in Riverside Indian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
