The Brookville Bees lost against the Amherst County Lancers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Brookville suffered a rough 65-43 loss at the hands of the Lancers. Brookville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Miller, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Collison, who scored ten points.
Amherst County found their leader in underclassman Jayden Black, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Zech Lilly was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Brookville has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Amherst County, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookville will take on the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Forest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bees in Virginia (the Cavaliers are ranked 98th, while the Bees are ranked 357th). As for Amherst County, they will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rustburg is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
