David Posnack Jewish Day has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Divine Savior Academy Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
David Posnack Jewish Day fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Eagles on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 57-54.
Despite the loss, David Posnack Jewish Day saw an underclassman step up: Natalie Sagranichne dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Sagranichne scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Azafrani, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Divine Savior Academy had to suffer through a rough 60-28 loss at the hands of the Warriors. Divine Savior Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.
David Posnack Jewish Day's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Divine Savior Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
David Posnack Jewish Day strolled past the Sharks in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 by a score of 35-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for David Posnack Jewish Day since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
