The Jefferson Blue Jays entered their tilt with the DeSoto Dragons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Jefferson put the hurt on DeSoto with a sharp 63-37 win on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for Jefferson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jefferson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Megan Wood led the charge by scoring 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Wood is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Neels, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for DeSoto, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Jefferson will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DeSoto's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mehlville at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th.
