Spanish Fork has gone a perfect 5-0 against Timpview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Dons will take on the Thunderbirds at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spanish Fork has four straight wins, Timpview has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Spanish Fork had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Payson on Tuesday. The Dons put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-7 victory. The Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Paizley Boman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sydney Worthen and Lia Higginson did most of the damage at the plate: Worthen fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5, while Higginson went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave Worthen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Baylee Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Spanish Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Timpview came up short against Pleasant Grove on Tuesday, falling 14-8.
Halia Aumua led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Kara Thompson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Spanish Fork's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Timpview, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Timpview's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Spanish Fork has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Timpview, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Spanish Fork keep running through batters, or will the Thunderbirds buck the trend?
Spanish Fork got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Timpview by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
