The Fivay Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Tampa Prep Terrapins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Fivay fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Land O' Lakes on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Gators 71-67.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Odell Brown, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dominick Walsh, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Even though they lost, Fivay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Tampa Prep strolled past Lakewood Ranch with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 61-47. Given the Terrapins' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 562nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fivay better keep an eye on J'London Bivens. He was instrumental in Tampa Prep's win, going 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and eight steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Fuller, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points.
Tampa Prep pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Fivay, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Fivay hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 70 points per game. However, it's not like Tampa Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 66.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Fivay lost to Tampa Prep on the road by a decisive 68-49 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Fivay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
