The Proviso West Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Oak Park-River Forest 58-36. The victory was some much needed relief for Proviso West as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Oak Park-River Forest's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shardae Spruille, who scored 11 points, and Gabriella Chesney who scored nine points.
Proviso West's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which is still a better percentage than their 5-19 record this season.
Proviso West will head out on the road to square off against the Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenbard West presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Illinois (the Hilltoppers are ranked 39th, while the Panthers are ranked 345th). As for Oak Park-River Forest, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Downers Grove North is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
