Avery Burghart made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Tori Townsend and Rachel Force did most of the damage at the plate: Townsend went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Force got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Force a new career-high. Maddy Spitalie was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
The Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delaware County Christian only posted a batting average of .192.
The Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for The Pilgrim Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
