Apex Friendship has gone a perfect 6-0 against Green Level recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Apex Friendship has three straight wins, Green Level has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Apex Friendship's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. Everything went their way against Cary as they made off with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Patriots have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Cheyenne Christman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Christman was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Sydney Joyce was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Marquis, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Apex Friendship always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Green Level came up short against Middle Creek last Wednesday, falling 9-2.
Green Level saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Agostini, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was Agostini's first of the season.
Green Level's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Apex Friendship, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Green Level's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Apex Friendship has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Green Level, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Apex Friendship's sizable advantage in that area, the Gators will need to find a way to close that gap.
Apex Friendship took their victory against Green Level in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-1 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
