Madison is 10-0 against the Generals since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Madison Marlins will head out on the road to take on the Wisdom Generals at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Madison has 12 straight victories, the Generals have ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Madison gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Northside 90-51 at home. Given Madison's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Panthers are ranked 1226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madison's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Avalos, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Avalos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devean Newton, who scored 19 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Wisdom was the victim of a tough 64-42 defeat at the hands of the Panthers on Monday.
Madison has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Wisdom, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Madison against the Generals when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 79-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
