The Christ the King Crusaders fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Lincoln Charter Eagles on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Christ the King just can't catch a break and has now endured five defeats in a row.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Parker Ryan, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 19 rebounds, and nine blocks. That's the first time this season that Ryan posted two or more blocks. Marco Tampoya was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Kelan Flowers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lincoln Charter, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Mckennon Showers, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Christ the King's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-9. As for Lincoln Charter, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Christ the King will look to defend their home court on Friday against Langtree Charter at 7:30 p.m. Langtree Charter has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11. As for Lincoln Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain Island Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Island Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Lincoln Charter likes a good challenge.
