Millard South's loss came despite strong showings from Bernie Anderson and Isaac Jensen. Anderson scored 16 points along with 3 steals, while Jensen dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Anderson scored a full 29.1% of Millard South's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Albert, who scored 8 points.
Even though they lost, Millard South were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha Central only pulled down 21.
Omaha Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devin Holmon led the charge by dropping a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of D.J. Sterling, who scored 9 points along with 6 steals.
Millard South now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Omaha Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millard South will face off against Omaha North at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Omaha Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Bryan at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
