Mater Dei are taking a road trip to challenge Triad at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mater Dei is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Hillsboro by a score of 9-4 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Hiltoppers: they've now won four in a row.

Taylor Robert was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddy Huels, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rylie Rolves, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Mater Dei was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Triad waltzed into their game last Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Maroons as they made off with a 17-10 victory. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly seven runs.
Lil Lintz was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Syd Horn was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
Triad's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mater Dei, their record now sits at 2-3-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mater Dei hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like Triad struggles in that department as they've averaged .423. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mater Dei beat Triad 7-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Will Mater Dei repeat their success, or does Triad has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
