Softball Recap: Slaughter Community Charter's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Slaughter Community Charter came into Wednesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Liberty Magnet Patriots on Wednesday as the Slaughter Community Charter Knights made off with a 17-1 win. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Alyssa Faust made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Faust was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Brister, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Phoebe White was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Slaughter Community Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Magnet only posted an OBP of .250.

Slaughter Community Charter's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Liberty Magnet, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Slaughter Community Charter will welcome Northeast at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty Magnet, they will host False River at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
