Robertsdale is 2-8 against the Toros since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Robertsdale Golden Bears will head out on the road to take on the Spanish Fort Toros at 3:30 p.m. Spanish Fort took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Robertsdale, who comes in off a win.
Robertsdale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Chickasaw by a score of 44-35.
It was another big night for Mallorie Rothe, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaunte Sanders, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Spanish Fort pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 76-59 fall against Bryant.
Robertsdale is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Spanish Fort, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.
Robertsdale came up short against the Toros in their previous matchup last Tuesday, falling 65-54. Can Robertsdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
