Freeway recap October 8, 2013
Troy extended the longest winning streak in Freeway this week by beating Paramount, 48-38. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Troy moved up to 140 from 193 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Kevin Hastin's team climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Pirates 48-38.
Jamaal Anderson was a passing and rushing force as Sonora fell to Estancia. Anderson's key target this week was Justin Mun, who caught 3 passes for 16 yards.
Anderson was a beast in the backfield as the Raiders lost to the Eagles.
Kyle Blumer put up the best numbers through the air as the Warriors defeated Paramount. He finished with a total of 9 completions for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns. Blumer's favorite target this week was Dominic Vaccher, who caught 5 passes for 63 yards.
Fullerton's SCOTT LLOYD and JAMES HUBBARD have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback LLOYD has thrown for 1,004 yards this season, while HUBBARD has 18 catches for 366 yards. Buena Park's Deven Boston leads the league in rushing yards with 1,176.
As it stands, the Indians are in second, while La Habra is in third.
The Coyotes took down Westminster 47-15 last week, the largest margin of any game. Boston ran for 240 yards in the win.
