Bishop Ryan has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Trinity Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Bishop Ryan faced the Sioux in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bishop Ryan sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 victory over the Sioux.
Meanwhile, Trinity was able to grind out a solid win over the Saints on Thursday, taking the game 56-44. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Saints are ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop Ryan's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Trinity, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Bishop Ryan came up short against the Titans in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 68-64. Can Bishop Ryan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
