It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Ripley Tigers can now relate to. They took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hilltoppers on Monday. Ripley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Houston apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Ripley still got an impressive performance from Alorian Story, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 21 rebounds. Story is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight.
Ripley has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Houston, they pushed their record up to 22-11 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Ripley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Houston, they will face off against South Pontotoc at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Pontotoc's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Houston's offense will have their work cut out for them.
