The Apex Cougars were the 56-47 winner over the Willow Spring Storm when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Apex received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 56-39 to Willow Spring.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaden Maynard, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaibhav Dandala, who scored 6 points along with 4 steals.
Willow Spring can attribute much of their success to Brandon Solomon, who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Graham Moose was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Apex's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Willow Spring, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Apex will head out on the road to face off against Fuquay - Varina at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Willow Spring, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holly Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
