The Balmorhea Bears lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-33 walloping at the hands of Van Horn. Balmorhea has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Van Horn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gio Corralez, who scored 20 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Orlando Zamora, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Balmorhea's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Van Horn, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.
Balmorhea will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Van Horn, they will head out on the road to face off against the Shorthorns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marfa will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
