The Foundation Academy Lions entered their tilt with The First Academy Royals with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Foundation Academy came out on top against The First Academy by a score of 49-41 on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for James Jt bronaugh, who rushed for 394 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.2 yards per carry. Jt bronaugh really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another player making a difference was Michael Dove, who rushed for 25 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Foundation Academy's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Drew Flournoy and his two sacks.
The First Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Ryon Smith, who rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Jones, who gained 200 total yards and a touchdown.
Foundation Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for The First Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Foundation Academy will head out on the road to face off against West Oaks Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Oaks Academy will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. The First Academy will take on Windermere Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Windermere Prep is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
