Eaglecrest was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (102-101), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 17-25, 25-18, 16-14.
Eaglecrest had a senior duo take command as Ella Mack had 14 digs and two aces and Caitlin Lengefeld had 15 assists and seven digs.
Eaglecrest's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Ponderosa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Ponderosa has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Eaglecrest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Ponderosa skirted past Eaglecrest 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Raptors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
