Kearney has gone 8-1 against Norfolk recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Bearcats will head out to take on the Panthers at 10:30 a.m. Norfolk took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kearney, who comes in off a win.
It was a proper cat-fight when Kearney faced off against Hastings on Friday. The Bearcats blew past the Tigers 15-4. The Bearcats haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Kash Fosher and Blake Softley dominated on the mound. Fosher pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits, while Softley pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Softley has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jake Bosshamer was incredible, going 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Ethan DeHaven was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Kearney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hastings only managed six.
Meanwhile, while it was Norfolk who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Pius X who put up more. The Panthers fell just short of the Thunderbolts by a score of 4-3.
Norfolk saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braydan Koozer, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Kearney's record is now 13-14. As for Norfolk, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Kearney came out on top in a nail-biter against Norfolk in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
