StoneBridge has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Atlantic Shores Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on StoneBridge, who comes in off a win.
StoneBridge posted their biggest victory since December 18, 2023 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat TEACH 65-29 at home.
StoneBridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Douglas Marshall, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Atlantic Shores Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a hard 49-34 fall against Catholic. While losing is never fun, Atlantic Shores Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Catholic is ranked 17th).
StoneBridge now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
StoneBridge was taken down by Atlantic Shores Christian 79-39 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can StoneBridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
