The East Rockingham Eagles lost against the Madison County Mountaineers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. East Rockingham took a hard 56-40 fall against Madison County. East Rockingham has struggled against Madison County recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Billy Acton was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals for Madison County. The matchup was Acton's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Breeden, who scored 14 points.
East Rockingham's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-7. As for Madison County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
East Rockingham will head out on the road to face off against Harrisonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Clarke County at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Clarke County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Friday.
