The Cheyenne Desert Shields will head out on the road to face off against the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Cheyenne is ranked 43rd, while Pinecrest Academy Cadence is ranked 23rd).
Last Wednesday, Cheyenne had to suffer through a rough 71-36 loss at the hands of Mojave. Cheyenne was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.
Despite their loss, Cheyenne saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cordae Feazell, who scored 10 points, was perhaps the best of all. Feazell scored a full 27.8% of Cheyenne's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Boston, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy Cadence waltzed into Saturday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Cristo Rey St. Viator, posting a 67-26 win on the road.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Combs, who scored 15 points. Jayden Tookes was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Cheyenne's win lifted them to 1-2 while Mojave's defeat dropped them down to 1-1.
