The Bowie Bears were the 38-25 winner over the El Paso Tigers when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Bowie was outmatched by El Paso on the road and fell 57-20. Bowie has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
El Paso was led to victory by Amaris Ambriz and Natalia Thomas. Ambriz scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds, while Thomas scored 16 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least 25% of El Paso's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Morales, who scored 7 points.
Bowie has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for El Paso, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Bowie will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mountain View at 7:30 p.m. As for El Paso, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Parkland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday.
