The Freedom Eagles waltzed into their contest Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They put the hurt on Unity Reed with a sharp 71-49 win. The result was nothing new for Freedom, who have now won three matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why Unity Reed lost, one person who can't be blamed is Charles Pargo. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Pargo scored a full 49% of Unity Reed's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Powell, who scored six points.
Unity Reed struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Freedom's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Unity Reed, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
Freedom will head out on the road to face off against Patriot at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Unity Reed won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Park View at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Park View has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 257 points over their last four matchups.
