The Cactus Cobras waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against West Point by a score of 69-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Bradey Henige continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 39 points and 24 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Cactus' points. Josiah Hyslip was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Cactus' win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points per game. As for West Point, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cactus will finish 2023 at home by hosting Queen Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Point will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shadow Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
