The Columbus North Bull Dogs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-44 win over East Central. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Columbus North also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Columbus North was led to victory by Caleb Ferguson and Nathan Enneking. Ferguson scored 15 points, while Enneking scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Enneking has scored all season. Nolan Pickup was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
East Central's loss came despite strong showings from Dylan Maxwell and Carson Pieczonka. Maxwell scored 13 points along with three steals, while Pieczonka scored 17 points. Maxwell hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Hofer, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Columbus North's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for East Central, they dropped their record down to 10-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus North will take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bull Dogs in Indiana (the Panthers are ranked 87th, while the Bull Dogs are ranked 219th). As for East Central, they will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Connersville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Thursday.
