It was a good run, but the Ramsay Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Jacksonville 56-50. Ramsay was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jacksonville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Devin Barksdale was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 3 assists for Jacksonville. Another player making a difference was Aaron Nixon, who scored 13 points.
Ramsay's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Jacksonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ramsay will challenge Hueytown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hueytown has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 294 points over their last four contests. Jacksonville is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Piedmont at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Piedmont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Jacksonville is ranked 50th).
