Delaware Valley recap September 17, 2013
Interboro scaled the state rankings by moving to 110 from 143 this week, the biggest jump in Delaware Valley. The Buccaneers were able to make move up by topping Prep Charter 53-21.
Glen Mills and Upper Darby played the closest game in the league this week, with Glen Mills eventually emerging with a 18-13 victory.
Chester's dynamic duo of TAE'JUAN PAYNE and JABRE NICHOLSON proved to be unstoppable against Horace Furness, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. PAYNE threw for 153 yards and NICHOLSON had 61 yards receiving. HASSAN BUSH helped Chester's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 45 yards.
The Clippers' dynamic duo of PAYNE and NICHOLSON proved tough for Horace Furness to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
PAYNE put up the best numbers through the air as Chester beat Anthony Pastore's team.
Jerry Lanier provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Academy Park beat Sun Valley. Lanier's favorite target this week was Jeff Devaughn, who caught 2 passes for 32 yards.
NICHOLSON was the best wideout in the league this week as Charles Crews' team bested Horace Furness.
Lanier was the best running back in Delaware Valley this week. He ran for 174 yards on 17 carries as the Knights topped Horace Furness. Brian Ingram also contributed to the rushing game with 45 yards on the ground.
Chester's PAYNE and NICHOLSON have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback PAYNE has thrown for 289 yards this season, while NICHOLSON has 7 catches for 179 yards. Lanier from Academy Park leads the league in rushing with 611 yards.
Jason Vosheski's team took down the Vanguards 37-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Lanier in the win.
