Jase Ferguson's Big Game Leads Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion] over Punxsutawney
Jase Ferguson was instrumental in extending Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion]'s winning streak to eight on Friday. Ferguson was dynamite, throwing for 334 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 66 yards and two touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending three passes.
Ferguson must have Punxsutawney's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Ferguson saw Punxsutawney), he threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 97 yards on only 13 carries.

Easton Belfiore Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Brookville got the W thanks in part to Easton Belfiore playing the best football he has all season. Belfiore rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August.
Brookville moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak. Belfiore will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Port Allegany on Friday.

Kolton Griffin Puts an End to Brookville's Losing Streak on Friday
Brookville's six-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Kolton Griffin. On Friday Griffin rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
This season, Griffin has run in those 2 touchdowns while averaging 38.5 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 20 rushing yards per game.

Moniteau Gets a Boost from Sankey in 48-8 Defeat
Moniteau had to settle for second on Friday, but Brendin Sankey sure wasn't going down easily. Brookville had no answer to Sankey as he threw for 146 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 52 yards.
Moniteau is on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8. Sankey and Moniteau will take on Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Hunter Scherer Makes Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Hunter Scherer of Karns City. Scherer picked up 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Karns City has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Scherer and Karns City will square off against Keystone on Friday.
