The Coronado Dons were the 46-23 winner over the Apache Junction Prospectors when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Coronado fell just short of Apache Junction by a score of 39-37. Coronado just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Kailyn Holsey and Ariel Douglas certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Holsey almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, while Douglas dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Holsey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Coronado dropped their record down to 6-18 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for Apache Junction, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-20.
Coronado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Apache Junction also has no future games currently scheduled.
