Venice is 9-1 against Riverview Sarasota since September of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Venice Indians' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Riverview Sarasota Rams at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. One thing working in Venice's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten games.
With a playoff game on the line, Venice rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by the Indians at home to the tune of 56-14. The result was nothing new for Venice, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Jadyn Glasser, who threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarice Wilder, who rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Meanwhile, Riverview Sarasota waltzed into Friday's game with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 35-30 W over Manatee.
Riverview Sarasota can attribute much of their success to Braxton Thomas, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and Dj Johnson, who rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Johnson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Venice pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35 points. As for Riverview Sarasota, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Venice took their victory against Riverview Sarasota in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 35-14. Will Venice repeat their success, or does Riverview Sarasota have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
