Leading by 52 points entering the fourth quarter didn't stop
Tyro Christian (Tyro, Kans.)
from scoring, as it added 14 points in the final quarter on the way to a 82-38
victory over
Elk Valley (Longton, Kans.)
on Saturday.
The Eagles were up 68-18 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run
by Jones in the first quarter.
Tyro Christian expanded its lead to 52 points entering the fourth quarter. TC
scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Zach Bush.
Bush was the best player for the Tyro school in the game.
The junior quarterback
threw one touchdown
and
ran for three touchdowns.
He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two
teams, which the Lions took, 72-12. The matchup between these two teams has
been a relatively even one, as the Eagles has come out ahead in two of the
past four games they've faced each other.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Tyro Christian, which was
coming off a 38-30 defeat at the hands of Wright Christian in its previous
game.
In its next matchup TC (1-1) will take on Pleasanton in a non-conference game. The
Blu-Jays go into the week with a record of 0-1.
