Pine Lake Prep is 9-1 against Mountain Island Charter since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Pride will welcome the Raptors at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Pine Lake Prep's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
On Monday, Pine Lake Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Community School of Davidson, taking the game 10-7.
Jackson Drury looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Dylan Brandt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alec Brown, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.
Mountain Island Charter came out on top against Bradford Prep on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Raptors walked away with an 8-5 win over the Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raptors.
Tucker Belcher made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Belcher was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Berger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Aiden Hansen was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Pine Lake Prep is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain Island Charter, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Mountain Island Charter's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pine Lake Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Mountain Island Charter, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Pine Lake Prep's hitters?
