Last Friday, St. Augustine was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 78-77 to TMI-Episcopal. St. Augustine has not had much luck with TMI-Episcopal recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Saint Mary's Hall on Friday, but they still walked away with a 76-70 win.
St. Joseph Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucas Cristiano, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Cristiano hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Oscar Balli, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
St. Augustine's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for St. Joseph Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-14.
St. Augustine beat St. Joseph Academy 64-56 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Augustine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
