They really took it to Syracuse for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-30 win at home. Douglas County West has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 26 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Ryker Wohlers, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Karsten Alexander, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Douglas County West pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Syracuse, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Douglas County West will square off against the Bluejays on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Ashland-Greenwood is ranked 17th, while the Falcon are ranked 19th). As for Syracuse, they will be playing at home against the Chieftains at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
